The Community Foundation of Hancock County is offering some disaster relief for those who have been hit by the recent severe weather, including the derecho that struck Garner. Ellen Tusha is the foundation’s director.
Tusha says the foundation is steering the funding through county non-profits with the hope they can provide aid where other relief funding can’t or won’t.
Applications will be taken by the foundation for what has been titled the Disaster Recovery Relief Fund. She says the nonprofits can apply on the foundation’s website.
The application window is open for the next two weeks.
