–An open house and official ribbon cutting ceremony were held for the new fieldhouse at Algona High School Friday morning. Superintendent Joe Carter tells KLGA News they are beyond thrilled with how the project turned out.
While the new facility is a massive upgrade for multiple high school and middle school sports teams, Carter says the unintended uses of the facility will continue to grow as well.
Carter says they’ve received nothing but positive feedback from those who have used the new facility.
Along with the indoor track and basketball courts, the project includes a new weight room. Carter says it’s a room that all students have been using, not just those involved in athletics
Construction on the $13.1 Million project began in the spring of 2024.
