–A Mason City woman wanted on theft related charges in Kossuth County from an incident back in May was taken into custody late last week.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Savanna Rose Estal was taken into custody last Friday by law enforcement officials in Cerro Gordo County before being transported to Kossuth County. Estal was wanted on charges of 2nd Degree Theft, a Class D Felony, and Operating a Vehicle without Owners Consent, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.

A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court alleges that Estal took a LuVerne man’s vehicle without his permission while he was asleep on May 13th. The victim was unable to locate Estal or contact her to try and get the vehicle back. Along with the vehicle, it is alleged Estal took the victim’s wallet, which had over $500 in it at the time.

Estal was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. She is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on Tuesday, October 14th.
