–A Bancroft man recently won a $30,000 prize playing an Iowa Lottery scratch game.
According to the lottery, David Haack claimed the 2nd top prize in the “Peppermint Crossword” scratch game Friday at their regional office in Mason City.
Haack purchased the winning ticket at the Car-Go-Express in Bancroft. He told lottery officials that he initially thought he had won only $100 until he went to the counter at the convenience store to redeem it and realized it was much larger.
