–Some side streets will be reduced to one lane of traffic across part of Algona this week as the city prepares to move forward with the sewer main lining project.
According to a release from the city, Municipal Pipe Tool Company of Hudson will serve as the contractor for the project. The scope of the work was developed based on public infrastructure investigations, including smoke testing, dye testing, and other information gathered in the fall of 2024.
The project includes lining eight sections of sanitary sewer main, as well as one section of storm pipe to prevent root issues. Most of the work will be located on the western half of Algona, but the general locations can be viewed by going online to www.algonaiowa.gov/news/6674/sewer-main-lining-project-to-begin-in-early-november.
