Rollover Accident Reported In Palo Alto County

–Officers responded to a rollover accident in Palo Alto County this past Saturday. According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, the Palo Alto Communications Center received several 911 calls about a single vehicle rollover accident in the 4400 block of 360^th street on Highway 18. An investigation showed that a 2003 Ford F250, owned by Riley Smith, and driven by Stella Sassman, was east bound on HWY 18. Sassman lost control of the vehicle as it crossed a bridge due to icy road conditions. The vehicle entered the south ditch where it rolled several times. Sassman, and two other occupants, were assisted by EMS and Fire Department personnel and transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital for treatment of injuries. The vehicle was deemed a total loss. The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Emmetsburg Police Department, Emmetsburg Fire Department, Palo Alto County Ambulance Service, and the Iowa State Patrol
