Two Vehicle Accident Leads To Death

–A woman from Hardy, Iowa passed away following a two-vehicle accident in Humboldt County Monday morning. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 60-year-old Debora Lei Ruberg was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound on Iowa Highway 3, near States Avenue, when she lost control of the vehicle on a snow- and ice-covered road. The Jeep entered the eastbound lane and was struck by a 2016 Freightliner semi, driven by 37-year-old Austin Lee Van Klompe of Maurice, Iowa, causing Ruberg to be ejected. Van Klompe was not injured in the accident, but Ruberg was transported to Humboldt County Memorial Hospital for injuries and later passed away.
