Travel on the state’s roadways is up slightly this year. Stuart Anderson of the Iowa Department of Transportation gave a report at the Transportation Commission meeting Wednesday.
The number of fatal traffic accidents continues to be down, sitting at 234 through the middle of this week.
He says these numbers are lower than they have been in a number of years.
Iowa saw 357 traffic deaths in 2024 and 379 in 2023.
