–The Algona City Council approved an agreement with Bolton & Menk Monday evening to design street improvement projects for 2026. Matt Cole is a Project Engineer with Bolton & Menk, and he laid out the plans for the council prior to the vote. The first phase will include mill and overlay work on a pair of streets.

There will also be projects to do crack sealing along a number of streets as well along with a seal coat project. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden says the agreement allows them to move forward with plans so work can get going in a timely manner.

The agreement will have the mill and overlay project put out for bids in March, contracts awarded in April or May, with work to begin in June and last through the fall. The other two projects will be ready to seek bids in February, with contracts awarded in April and work to run from June through August.
