–Area residents can get a preview of what is to come next year with the Nourish on Wheels program at an event Friday night in Burt. Lindsey Humble is a local spokesperson for Nourish on Wheels, which is affiliated with the non-profit Triada organization.

Triada is based out of Chicago, and the group received just over $23,000 this year from the Kossuth County Community Foundation to launch the Nourish on Wheels project here. Humble says area residents can stop by the Burt Activity Complex Friday (Nov. 21) from 4:30-7 PM to see what will be a mobile operation when it gets up and running next year.

The mobile food market is climate controlled for perishable and non-perishable food items, and Humble says they hope to start serving area residents as soon as possible.

Friday’s event will be held in conjunction with a free-will donation meal and bingo, sponsored by the Burt Summer Celebration Committee. For more information about Nourish on Wheels, you can contact Humble by calling 515-689-1569 or you can go online to www.triadaworld.org/nourish-on-wheels.
