–An Algona man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer following a dispute over a vehicle towing Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Algona Police Department, Officers arrested 51-year-old Noel Kristofer Kicksey following the alleged incident around 2:30 PM Wednesday.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court alleges that Kicksey barged into an officer while the officer was attempting to tow his vehicle from South Moore Street. The complaint goes on to say that Kicksey became aggressive toward the officer while he was giving instructions and resisted when the officer placed him under arrest.
Kicksey is facing charges of Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations, an Aggravated Misdemeanor, and Interference with Official Acts, a Simple Misdemeanor.
He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing in Kossuth County District Court on December 22nd.
