–Work along Nebraska and Thorington Streets in downtown Algona has wrapped up for the winter, as both streets are once again open for public use. Matt Cole with Bolton & Menk addressed the Algona City Council during their meeting on Monday, and he says the vast majority of work on the project has been completed.

The project included a complete reconstruction of the municipal parking lot at the intersection of Nebraska and Thorington streets.  Cole says the work yet to be done will not take long to complete.

The project called for a substantial completion date of November 15th.

Contractors were given more time to complete their work after rain and wet conditions forced work delays this summer. Work is scheduled to resume in early spring of 2026. You can find the latest updates on the project at www.clients.bolton-menk.com/algonadowntownculturaldistrict/.
