–Reservations can soon be made to secure either a camp site or a shelter house at a pair of Kossuth County parks. Kendall Stumme with the Kossuth County Conservation Board tells KLGA News that making plans for next summer can be done from the comfort of your own home.
Camp sites on the south side of Smith Lake and at Siems Park are reservable from May 11th through September 14th, with a 14-day stay limit. The shelters at each location can be reserved for dates between May 1st and October 1st. Stumme says you have a couple of options available to pay for your reservation.
Making a reservation early can help you avoid any problems when spaces may become scarce.
Reservations can be made by going to www.mycountyparks.com/County/Kossuth and clicking on the “Facilities” link. If you have any questions, you can contact the Water’s Edge Nature Center by calling 515-295-2138.
