–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors will continue to record budget hearings following a discussion on the subject this week. A number of county department leaders believe the recordings can inhibit what they bring before the board when discussing budgets for the coming year. Board Chairman Carter Nath checked with neighboring counties, two of which record their budget hearings.

Fourth District Supervisor Kyle Stecker says the recordings help keep the board’s proceedings open to those who can’t attend their meetings.

Fifth District Supervisor Amber Garman also voiced her support for recording the budget workshops.

The board voted 4-1 to continue recording the budget meetings, with 2nd District Supervisor Howard Haas voting against the idea.
