The Iowa High School Athletic Directors Association has announced North Central Conference commissioner Greg Stewart as Administrator of the Year, as Stewart was honored during a halftime ceremony at Algona’s basketball game on Friday.

The award is presented annually to individuals who promote sportsmanship, ideals, competition, and standards through athletics that contribute to youth in the state of Iowa.

Stewart served 11 years as the principal and athletic director at West Bend, followed by 22 years as middle school principal and athletic director for Algona.

Stewart also spent 11 years as executive secretary of the Cornbelt Conference.

Today, Stewart is in his 26th year as the commissioner of the North Central Conference.  Algona fans also hear from Stewart on the radio during high school basketball season, providing color commentary during Bulldog basketball games on KLGA and KLGZ.
