–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors approved the first reading of an ordinance regulating utility scale solar energy systems during their meeting Tuesday. Chairman Carter Nath outlined some of the provisions in the ordinance while reading through the language.
The ordinance does make distinctions between projects that are covered by the regulations.
The ordinance also outlines the steps that need to be followed to install this type of solar energy system.
Nobody spoke about the ordinance during a public hearing that was held prior to the first reading. The board will hold a second reading during their meeting next week.
