–The Algona Community School District will once again be participating in the Summer Food Service program, offering free meals for children aged 18 and younger. Jill Nelson serves as the Food Service Program Director for the district, and she tells KLGA News the meals will be available beginning Monday June 1st.
The meals will be handed out at Bryant Elementary School, located at 120 E. North Street in Algona.
Nelson says each time a child comes they will receive a few bags to take home.
The Algona Public Library is also assisting with the program this summer.
The free meals will be served throughout June and July, with the last day being Friday, July 24th. If you have questions, contact the Algona Community School District at 515-295-3528.
