–An Algona man is facing a felony level domestic assault charge following an alleged incident over the weekend.
44-year-old Jarrod Lynn Fitzgerald was taken into custody following an alleged incident early Sunday morning. According to a criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court this week by the Algona Police Department, Fitzgerald allegedly began punching and biting his girlfriend after she had come home, leaving marks on her face.
Fitzgerald was arrested on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault-3rd or Subsequent offense, a Class D Felony. He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance.
A no contact order has also been issued to prevent Fitzgerald from having any contact with the alleged victim in the case.
