–Kossuth Regional Health Center will receive over $600,000 in federal funding through the USDA’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program in partnership with 2 area utility providers. Algona Municipal Utilities General Manager John Bilsten tells KLGA News the program requires a commitment from the utility company.
Bilsten says they are never quite sure how long the application process will take when dealing with the federal government.
Along with the direct benefits to Kossuth Regional Health Center, Bilsten says this will also allow them to assist other area businesses over time.
AMU and the Corn Belt Power Cooperative each secured $300,000 grants for Kossuth Regional Health Center which will then use the funds to purchase equipment to modernize their Radiology department.
