–A benefit account has been established for the two boys injured in a car-train collision in northern Kossuth County Tuesday afternoon.
An accident report filed by the Kossuth County Sheriff’s office identified 16-year-old Hunter McCoy Blocker of Lakota as the driver of the 2004 Chevy Impala that was struck by a Union Pacific train just before 4 PM Tuesday.
The benefit fund has been established through Farmer’s Trust and Savings Bank to benefit Hunter and his 12-year-old brother Owen, who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Both boys were flown by air ambulance to Rochester, Minnesota for treatment of their injuries.
Donations can be made at any of the six Farmer’s Trust locations, which include Lakota, Buffalo Center, Britt, and Lake Mills across northern Iowa. All proceeds will go to help offset the medical related costs for the family.
