–A Humboldt man is facing multiple assault charges in Kossuth County in connection to alleged incidents earlier this year.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies arrested 19-year-old Dillon James Rockhold on Friday after he had been picked up in Clay County. Rockhold has been charged with Domestic Abuse Assault-Impeding Air/Blood Flow, a Class D Felony, along with Domestic Abuse Assault-Causing Bodily injury stemming from incidents in Algona back in March.
Court records show the Algona Police Department filed criminal complaints on April 3rd and an arrest warrant was issued for Rockhold on April 6th. The criminal complaints allege that Rockhold assaulted the victim on March 27th and 28th. During the incident on March 27th, Rockhold allegedly attempted to strangle the victim during an argument and caused her to hit her head on a bathroom sink.
Rockhold is also facing a charge of animal abuse for allegedly injuring the victim’s cat during the altercations. He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance, as he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on August 10th.
A no contact order is in place to prevent Rockhold from having any contact with the alleged victim in the case.
