–Kossuth Regional Health Center announced a new partnership this week to expand access to general surgery procedures for patients around the area. Beginning in mid-August, Northwest Iowa Surgeons will see patients in the KRHC Specialty Clinic.
Surgeons from the Spencer-based medical practice will be available two days a week, with actual procedures expected to begin locally in September.
The practice’s team of five board-certified surgeons can offer a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services while helping patients avoid unnecessary travel for consultations, treatment, and follow-up appointments.
Northwest Iowa Surgeons currently provides general consultation, surgical care, and on-call emergency services to hospitals in Spencer, Spirit Lake, Estherville, Emmetsburg, Pocahontas, and Sibley.
While this agreement will cover general surgical services, Dr. Brent Owen will continue to serve as KRHC’s primary physician for endoscopy services, including colonoscopies.
