–Only minor injuries were reported following a 2-vehicle collision last week near Burt.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 66-year-old Susan Bosma of Buffalo Center was traveling southbound on 110th Avenue in a 2012 Ford Escape around 10:45 AM on September 16th. The accident report states that Bosma realized she had missed a mail delivery and attempted to do a U-turn at the intersection of 110th Avenue and 310th Street.
While Bosma was conducting the U-turn, she did not stop while re-entering the intersection, and she was struck by a westbound 2006 Buick La Crosse, driven by 86-year-old Mary Joyce Hatten of Bancroft.
Hatten reported minor injuries but was not transported from the scene. Bosma did not report any injuries and admitted to being at fault to law enforcement.
Damage to Bosma’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000 while damage to Hatten’s car was estimated at $4,500.
