A group of skateboard enthusiasts who run a shirt company out North Central Iowa are planning an event later this month at the new skatepark in Algona. Tyler Phillips runs Basic Shirt Co. and is organizing the event. He tells KLGA News they are excited to test out Algona’s new design.
Phillips says the idea for the event came after recent youth violence in their community.
Phillips says they really like Algona’s new skatepark.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 26th at Central Park in Algona. Along with the skating, they plan on having bouncy houses available for the kids to go along with a vendor’s market, beginning around 10AM with the skating to start at 12PM. Any area skaters are encouraged to attend, as preregistration is not required.
