–Despite the mild weather so far in December, local officials are reminding residents you can stay up to date with latest hazardous conditions through the Alert Iowa program. Kossuth County Emergency Management Coordinator Charissa Mueller tells KLGA News the program can keep you informed on any platform you choose.

Mueller says you can sign up in a matter of minutes before the true winter weather arrives for the season.

Mueller says there are multiple ways to sign up for the Alert Iowa program.

Alert Iowa is a free service provided by Kossuth County and the state of Iowa that allows users to receive weather alerts by email, cell phone or landline. Alerts sent from Kossuth County will originate from the number 69310 for text messages, 515-555-5555 for voice notifications and [email protected] for email messages. More information is available under the Emergency Management tab at www.kossuthcounty.iowa.gov and at www.algonaiowa.gov.
