New Superintendent Named for West Bend Mallard/Gilmore City Bradgate

The West Bend-Mallard School Board held a special meeting Thursday to interview the finalists for the district’s Superintendent position. 

According to the published agenda, the board interviewed the two finalists, Paul Peppmeier and Johanna Cooper in closed session before returning to open session to make a selection.  

The board selected Paul Peppmeier to be the new Superintendent to represent the West Bend Mallard and Gilmore City Bradgate districts. Peppmeier moves into this role after finishing up his duties as Principal of the Early Childhood through 8th Grade, His first day as Superintendent is July 1st.

The board was looking to replace Amanda Schmidt, who led the district for a decade before stepping down at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
