–While the sale of fireworks is legal in the state of Iowa, many communities do not allow them to be discharged within their city limits. Police Chief Bo Miller tells KLGA News that they want to remind everyone about the restrictions here in Algona.
Miller says they want people to celebrate the holiday while keeping their neighbors in mind.
Miller says they hope residents will be considerate, but if they receive a fireworks complaint, those who disregard the city’s regulations will face consequences.
