Minnesota Man Killed in Winnebago County Rollover

–A Minnesota man was killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident in Northern Winnebago County Sunday morning.

According to Iowa State Patrol, 63-year-old Mark Claassen of Albert Lea, Minnesota was traveling southbound on 200th Avenue in a 2007 Chevy Sliverado around 10:40 AM Sunday. The accident report states that Claassen failed to negotiate a curve about 2 miles east of Scarville, causing his truck to leave the roadway.

After leaving the road surface, Claassen’s truck rolled several times, ejecting him from the vehicle.

Claassen was pronounced dead at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Mills Police and Fire Departments, Scarville Fire Department and the Forest City Ambulance Service.
