–Only minor injuries were reported following a 2-vehicle crash along US Highway 169 this past Friday afternoon.

According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 28-year-old Brooke Peters of Whittemore was northbound on Highway 169 in a 2020 Jeep Cherokee just before 1 PM Friday. The accident report states that Peters came up behind another northbound vehicle, this one driven by 42-year-old Barbara Tevis of Algona, and locked her brakes in an attempt to avoid a collision after the Tevis vehicle slowed down.

Peters swerved her vehicle to the right but struck the Tevis vehicle on the back passenger side. Both drivers told Deputies that the other seemed to be experiencing road rage at the time of and following the collision.

Tevis and a passenger reported possible minor injuries, but neither was transported from the scene. Damage to her 2004 Toyota Highlander was estimated at $1,500, while damage to Peters’ vehicle was also estimated at $1,500.
