–Anyone interested in starting a cottage business out of their home is encouraged to attend a presentation next week in Garner sponsored by the Iowa State Extension offices in Hancock, Winnebago, and Wright counties. Penny Brown Huber is a Food Business Specialist with the Iowa State Extension Food Innovation and Business Hub, and she will be leading the presentation on Thursday, March 26th.

Brown Huber joined the Food Innovation and Business Hub in early 2024 and began meeting with people to discuss the idea of starting a cottage business later that year. She says more and more people are becoming interested in the idea.

Whatever idea you may have, Brown Huber says they can help you make it become a reality.

Along with a 90-minute presentation, Brown Huber will be conducting one-on-one consultations from 2-5 PM on the 26th, allowing attendees to ask specific questions about their products or ideas.

The Cottage Law Presentation will be held from 6-7:30 PM on Thursday, March 26th at the ISU Extension Office in Garner. For more information or to sign up, you can call the Hancock County Extension Office at 641-923-2856, the Wright County Extension Office at 515-532-3453 or the Winnebago County Extension Office at 641-584-2261.
