–A Ruthven man did not report any injuries after the semi he was driving left the road and ended up in a farm field near Bancroft late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, 54-year-old Richard Lee Marlow was traveling east bound on County Road A42 in a 2020 International Semi just after 5:30 AM on Friday, March 20th. The accident report states the vehicle suffered some sort of mechanical failure 3 miles west of Bancroft, causing it to be pulled into the south ditch.
After entering the ditch, Marlow’s semi crashed through a barbed wire fence before stopping in the farm field south of the roadway.
Marlow did not report any injuries, as the accident report says he was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Damage to his semi was estimated at $30,000.
Damage to the barbed wire fence was estimated at $800.
