Cylinder Man Charged with 1st Degree Theft

–A Cylinder man is facing a felony theft charge following the report of a missing check.

According to the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies received the report of a stolen check around 4:30 PM on Friday, March 20^th. After conducting an investigation into the report, Deputies executed a search warrant in the 3500 block of 520^th Avenue north of Cylinder and arrested 65-year-old Danny Joe Opheim.

Opheim has been charged with 1^st Degree Theft, a Class C Felony. He was booked into he Palo Alto County Jail to await an initial court appearance.

Online records show Opheim is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on April 10^th in Palo Alto County District Court.
