–Three Wesley residents are facing multiple drug related charges in connection with an alleged incident earlier this month.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court alleges that 70-year-old Mark Allen Rhoads, 65-year-old Dean Allen Youngwirth, and 50-year-old Katherine Joel Douglas gathered at a residence in Wesley on March 10th. The complaint goes on to say that the group was smoking and snorting illegal narcotics, believed to be methamphetamine, and that Douglas had to be hospitalized for a probable overdose.
Following an investigation into the incident, Deputies obtained arrest warrants for the trio. Rhoads was arrested on Wednesday, March 25th, Youngwirth was arrested on Friday, March 27th, and Douglas was arrested on Sunday, March 29th.
Rhoads has been charged with Gathering where Controlled Substances are Used (Class D Felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Youngwirth has been charged with Controlled Substance Violation (Class B Felony), Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used, Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, and Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd offense, each is a Class D Felony.
Douglas is being charged with Gathering where Controlled Substances are Used (Class D Felony).
Each defendant was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Youngwirth will have a preliminary hearing on April 3rd, while Rhoads will make an appearance on April 6th.
