–An Algona church that celebrated its 40th anniversary last month is rebranding itself with an eye towards the next four decades. Pastor Dan Jordan tells KLGA News that the Evangelical Free Church received frequent questions on a frequent basis as to what that name actually meant.
The church set up a naming committee in 2025, and Jordan says that group received some 30-40 suggestions from members of their congregation.
Jordan says one of the first suggestions provided the basis for their new identity.

As of April 1st, the church is now known as New Hope, something Jordan says reflects their mission in serving Christ.
Jordan says they look forward to serving the needs of their congregation in the years to come.
