–The Kossuth County Dementia Care Board is sponsoring an educational forum this week aimed at providing some helpful information for families and caretakers. Board spokesperson Kris Schlievert tells KLGA News they have four panelists lined up for the presentation Thursday evening.
The Dementia Care Board began meeting nearly 4 years ago, with the mission of offering support to those with loved ones battling the disease. Schlievert says conversations with those family members lead to the board hosting their first public forum two years ago.
The board offers a support group that meets once a month, and Schlievert says it’s a way to make sure families know that help is available for those in need.
The educational forum will be held Thursday (April 9) at the Active Seniors Center in Algona. A free meal will be served at 5:30 PM, with the panel discussion set to begin around 6:15 PM. Anyone who has questions can contact Schlievert at 515-341-0640.
