–The City of Algona is working on a new comprehensive development plan, and they are asking for help from the general public. City Administrator Jacob Tjaden says they have a survey available now that will give area residents a chance to provide valuable information that can shape future plans.

Public input during this process will help city leaders identify what should be included in this new comprehensive plan and what can be left out.

The survey is geared towards Algona residents, but Tjaden says they welcome input from anyone in the surrounding area as well.

Tjaden says the survey is the first step in what will be a lengthy process.

Ideally, Tjaden says a comprehensive plan with plenty of public input can shape development around the city for the next two decades.

The survey is available through May 15th and can be filled out online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/6ZBDP37. Paper copies of the survey are also available at Algona City Hall, the Algona Chamber of Commerce office, and the Algona Public Library. Anyone with questions can call 515-295-2411.
