–An Algona man is facing a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault after allegedly making threats to a former partner late last week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies received a report of a domestic incident just before 9AM last Thursday, May 14th. After a brief investigation, Deputies arrested 26-year-old Tristen Jayce Wait on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault, an Aggravated Misdemeanor.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District alleges that Wait called the mother of his child that morning and verbally threatened to kill her and their child with a gun.
He was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Court records show he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing next week.
Court records also show a no contact order has been issued to prevent Wait from having any contact with the alleged victim in the case.
