–A Titonka man is facing multiple charges after an altercation with law enforcement north of Oak Lake earlier this week.
According to the Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Deputies were called to an area near the Plum Creek pits around 1:45 PM Monday, after the caller reported her boyfriend had taken her car keys and left the area on foot, stranding her there. Deputies noted the caller sounded upset, and she reported her boyfriend was possibly attempting to walk back to Titonka from that location.
While responding, Deputies located a male subject, identified as 45-year-old Kellie Wayne Lemman, walking in the 2500 block of 150th Avenue. A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Deputies asked Lemman if he still had the car keys, to which he yelled at the Deputies and proceeded to throw them into a nearby field.
Wanting to question Lemman, Deputies attempted to detain him, at which point he became agitated and attempted to walk into oncoming traffic. After threatening to hit Deputies with a metal water bottle he was carrying, Lemman was subdued by a taser and placed under arrest.
He is facing charges of Disorderly Conduct and Interference with Official Acts. He is also being charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance-Marijuana (1st offense) after Deputies found a THC Vape while conducting a search.
Lemman was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online records show he is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on October 16th.
