–An Algona woman is facing multiple charges following alleged incidents at two separate locations late last week.
According to the Algona Police Department, Officers received the report of a domestic disturbance around 6:40 PM last Thursday (October 8th). After conducting a brief investigation, Officers arrested 38-year-old Patricia Jane Rightman on a charge of Domestic Abuse Assault-1st Offense.
A criminal complaint filed in Kossuth County District Court states that Rightman went to the house where the alleged victim was located and following an argument, struck the victim in the face hard enough to knock the glasses off their face. Witnesses reported that Rightman also attempted to prevent the victim from leaving following the altercation, leaving marks on their face.
Along with the Domestic Abuse charge, Rightman is facing charges of 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony, from a separate incident that same day. In that case, Rightman is accused of entering a residence along South Jones Street without consent and threatening the homeowner. Security cameras from a neighbor allegedly show Rightman’s vehicle parking near the residence, along with her entering and leaving the home.
Following her arrest, Rightman was booked into the Kossuth County Jail to await an initial court appearance. Online records show she is scheduled to have a preliminary court hearing on October 19th.
