–Kossuth County Public Health wrapped up the last of 11 walk-in vaccine clinics Thursday with stops in Burt, Titonka, Wesley and LuVerne. Public Health Director Lynzie Nilles tells KLGA News they were able to offer the Pfizer vaccine beginning this week, which means those age 12 and up can now be vaccinated locally.

Nilles says the walk-in vaccine clinics attracted a handful residents and were well received.

Until now, only the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine had been available in Kossuth County because the Pfizer vaccine needs to be stored in extremely cold temperatures. Nilles says the wait between doses is a little shorter with the Pfizer vaccine.
