A Hunter Education Course has been scheduled for this spring. The course will meet at the following times: Tuesday, April 8 from 6:00-9:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10 from 6:00-9:00 P.M., and Saturday, April 12 from 8:00-3:00 P.M. The Tuesday and Thursday’s classes will be held at the Water’s Edge Nature Center at Smith Lake. The Saturday class will be held at the Izaak Walton League across from Smith Lake. To receive certification, participants must attend all three sessions. The class is offered to anyone 12 years of age, or older, free of charge. The course will cover firearm handling and safety, wildlife management, ethics, and various other topics. Live shooting will be offered as part of the class. The course is sponsored by the Kossuth County Conservation Board. Pre-registration is required for the course. Students must register online at http://events.gooutdoorsiowa.com. A manual must also be picked up at the nature center prior to the class. The deadline to register online and pick up a manual is Monday, April 7th at 4:30 P.M.
