Project Hope Week

June 24 @ 8:00 am - July 5 @ 5:00 pm

The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors will be proclaiming the weeks of June 24th through July 5th as “Project Hope Weeks”. Area residents can participate in Project Hope by donating small personal care items at participating business or at the K/PACEDC office located at 106 South Dodge Street, Suite 210, Algona, right above H&R Block. The interns will then assemble individual packages and deliver them to the Department of Human Services, local schools, the Kossuth and Palo Alto County Law Enforcement Centers, and many more places where the donations will be greatly appreciated.

Suggested items to donate include combs, brushes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, fingernail clippers, liquid body wash, and razors. Travel-sized items are suggested.

Executive Director, Maureen Elbert, emphasized the importance of the project, “Project Hope is important to children because it lets them know that there are people that care. Project Hope is one way that college-age students can give back by volunteering their time. This is an important community service project that, over the years, has really made a difference for those in need.”

The Interns certainly appreciate the public’s support and cooperation in this project. By donating small necessities to this cause, you will provide much comfort to people in need throughout Kossuth and Palo Alto Counties.

For more information on the Intern Program, contact Kossuth/Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation at (515) 295-7979 or at [email protected].
