Titonka Public Library presents Done In Love: The Life of Rev. Edler G. Hawkins by Damien Strecker on December 14th at 6PM that’s titled, I’m a history professor at NIACC and the presentation is based on my doctoral research.
“Hear the incredible true story of how Rev. Hawkins, from 1938 to 1970, shaped the most culturally unique neighborhood in New York City, rose to the highest elected office in Presbyterianism, and convinced his denomination to devote enormous resources to the civil rights movement.
