Supervisors Rescind Bid for FEMA Funded Project

–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors rescinded a vote from last month that had awarded the contract for repairs in Drainage District Four to a local company during their meeting Tuesday. The Supervisors had awarded the contract to Reutzel Excavating of Burt by a vote of 3-2, despite the fact that they were the 2^nd lowest bidder on the option selected by the board. The board rescinded the previous vote and then awarded the contract to McCarty after consultants suggested the county could lose over a million dollars in FEMA funding for the project if they didn’t take the low bid on the project.
