KCCF Hands Out Over $175,000 in Grants

–The Kossuth County Community Foundation announced over $175,000 in grants Monday that will go to non-profit of government organizations to benefit the citizens of Kossuth County. The awards are from the foundation’s 2023 grant cycle, which was moved up by about six weeks so that the awards could be made earlier in the year.

The award recipients are as follows:

Arts & Culture:

• Kossuth County Agricultural Association – Showbarn Roof Installation – $19,228
• Stinson Prairie Arts Council – All Call Theatre – $4,519
• Swea City Community Historical Society – $1,200

Community Betterment:

• American Legion Post 627, Ranney-Weisbrod – Fenton Legion Door Replacement – $3,000
• Bancroft Community Foundation – Chamber of Commerce Community Sign – $12,500
• City of Algona – Fire Department Cascade System – $29,000
• City of Bancroft – Library Carpet – $10,096
• City of Lakota – Library Window Replacement – $6,500
• City of Lone Rock – Depot Committee, Depot Playground – $9,700
• City of Titonka – Restroom Updates – $4,859
• City of Whittemore – American Legion, Roof Replacement $12,400
• City of Whittemore – Fire Department, Water Supply Equipment – $12,000

Education & Youth Development:

• Bishop Garrigan Schools – Bear Care Flooring – $7,000
• Iowa College Access Network – High School Preparedness and Financial Aid Access – $2,000
• Kossuth County C.A.R.E. Team – Back to School Backpack Program – $2,800
• North Central Iowa Ag in the Classroom – Connecting Youth to Agriculture in Kossuth County – $5,000
• Our Savior Lutheran Church, Swea City – Cool daycare and Comfy Cribs – $1,000
• Trinity Lutheran Church – Trinity After School for Kids (TASK) – $10,439

Health:

• Active Senior Citizens of Algona – Epoxy Floor System, Phase 1 & 2 – $10,000
• Active Senior Citizens of Algona – Meals on Wheels – $5,000
• Titonka Community Rest Home – Titonka Care Center – $5,000

Human Service:

• Kossuth County Food Pantry – Shelving – $2,741
