–The Kossuth County Board of Supervisors continued discussions Tuesday about implementing a dog ordinance in rural areas. Sheriff Roger Fisher addressed the board, and he says any ordinance needs to have specific penalties clearly laid out so his Deputies can enforce them.
Fisher says one recent case illustrates why he believes Kossuth County needs to put an ordinance in place.
Fisher says his office receives more dog complaints than people may think.
Fisher says a sad fact that his Deputies have to deal with is many people take unwanted pets out into rural areas of Kossuth County and abandon them, adding to the problem. The Supervisors are looking at regulations from neighboring counties as they construct language for an ordinance here.
