–The Algona Chamber of Commerce is teaming up with Algona Municipal Utilities and area businesses in an effort to connect with new residents. Chamber of Commerce Director Vicki Mallory tells KLGA News the idea of reaching out to new residents is something that has been done in a couple of different ways over the years.

Mallory says reaching out to AMU to help connect with new residents is a logical choice.

Mallory says they are hoping area businesses will take advantage of this chance to get their name in front of people who may not know anything about them.

Mallory says this will be a win-win for area businesses and the new residents at the same time.

Area businesses interested in participating are asked to have their items for the welcome bags to the chamber office by April 15th, so they can be organized and handed out beginning May 1st. If you have any questions, you can contact the chamber office by calling 515-295-7201.
