–An informational meeting is scheduled for Friday evening in Wesley to discuss changes to the proposed Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline project. In recent months, Summit has reached agreements with POET and Valero, adding their ethanol plants to the project, which would mean additional miles of pipeline would need to be added in areas that were not along the original route. Alan Bush is helping to organize the event, and he spoke with KLGA News about why they are holding the meeting.
Bush says they have three main speakers lined up to present information during the meeting.
Bush says they may be able to add another presenter or two before Friday, as they want to try and cover as many issues as possible.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 PM Friday at the Wesley Community Center, and Bush says they will try and answer any and all questions from the public.
In early March, Summit announced a partnership with Valero Industries to incorporate their ethanol plants, including the Lakota facility, into their pipeline project. To connect to that facility, Summit is looking to add 8.5 miles of pipeline in western Hancock County and another 22 miles in eastern Kossuth County.
