–A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon for the new Fieldhouse project at Algona High School. School officials were joined by city leaders, business partners and those involved with the design and construction of the facility to break ground on the project. Superintendent Joe Carter tells KLGA News that the area looks a bit strange at the moment.
Carter says the mild winter allowed for the preliminary work to get underway earlier this spring.
He says area residents will see quite a bit of progress on the project over the summer.
The new facility will feature an indoor track, multiple courts for basketball, volleyball, and even pickleball, along with new wrestling and weight rooms.
