–Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley made a stop in Algona on Thursday, part of his annual tour of all 99 counties across the state. Grassley spoke with employees at the Corteva plant in Algona for about 45 minutes, taking questions on a variety of topics, before speaking with KLGA News. In April, Grassley said he was not optimistic that a new farm bill would be passed this year, and he says that opinion really hasn’t changed much since then.
Grassley says scheduling isn’t the only reason he doesn’t believe a deal will be reached this year.
Grassley says when the Senate gets back in session next month, he will continue work on the farm bill and his prescription drug package.
